I try to follow my heart. There are allot of times that I'm not sure if what I'm doing is the right thing but I'm trying my best. I love my daughter and want only whats best for her. I guess I'm secure in what I choose to do because everything I do for my child I do with love. If I always show her how much I love her and treat her with respect I don't think I can go horrifically wrong. Raising ever child is a trial and error no matter how many children you have. There all so different.

First, you have to love her child and want to do the best you can for them. Then, you have to trust your instincts. Trust yourself and trust that you will know your child better than anyone else. You'll get 101 different opinions from 101 sources and you have to filter it all and ultimately do what you think is right. Most of it is common sense. If there is something you don't know, you find out, research, read books, ask questions and then draw your own conclusions. You just do the best you can.

I think we all second guess ourselves. I would consider myself very confident in my skills, but sometimes I still step back and think "Am I going to completely ***** up this kid?"

But I think that if we are generally happy with the way we are doing things, if our kids are happy and healthy, and if we can sleep at night, we should be pretty confident!

my mother says that you never really know, you just hope that you are able to raise them with morals and a good sense of right and wrong. just do the best that you can and take any advise you are given.

<a href=""></a>

For me, it's having a sense of peace and then being able to laugh at myself the rest of the time! My daughter is still very young but I found that spending as much time together as possible - holding her skin-to-skin - in the first few months made a huge difference. When I feel off my game or out of sync with her, I try to shelve everything else and just spend the day with her. It's hard to get help to do this and it means I have to lose a little sleep making up the time but it's worth it.
