Just wondering if books “What to Expect the First Year” are helpful in the beginning?

Thanks.

My ex and I divorced in june 05. The judge ordered him to pay $200 a month in child support and he has visitation every other week during the summer and every other weekend when the kids are in school. He has not been steady in visiting the kids at all these past 2 years. There has been so many changes (we both moved to different towns) and I don’t know where he lives now. He calls sometimes (when he gets the urge, I guess) and visits very rarely. He has not paid any child support to me at all. Now that the summer has started and the kids are not in school, do I still have to let the kids go with him for a week even though I do not know where he lives, and he has not seen them in quite a while, nor has he paid any child support? I want my kids to have a relationship with him because he is their father, but he can’t just show up when he wants to. Please help.

Ok, lets say two people are married for several years and they don’t want kids. A man doesn’t ever want kids and but his wife changed her mind and does want kids, would it be kinda silly to end the marriage over something petty?
Reply: I’m not.
